Our Purpose
A Permanent Place is a non-profit organization focused on affordable housing in Washington State. Founded in 2025, we empower families who struggle to secure traditional mortgages by offering homeownership options through seller financing. Our mission is to enable stability and growth for underserved households.
Our Program
What We Plan to Offer
Our approach is to cut out the "b" man (or woman), ie the banker & the broker. We obtain the funding to provide very low interest, affordable, quality homes on owner contracts with little money up front to create the opportunity to be an owner rather than the renter. This creates opportunities for a stable childhood experience, fostering neighborhood connections, saving for college (or vacation or retirement) and gives financial leverage where none existed before.
Support
Individualized Services
We provide tailored contracts, that identify risks for each potential buyer; these risks do not act as a barrier to homeownership because each risk is clearly identified and a risk plan is incorporated into the purchase contract. We offer on-going supports, flexible payment terms, no extra fees, and access to home maintenance education and training.
Affordability
Low Down Payment
Our programs feature minimal upfront costs, making homeownership accessible to those with limited financial resources. Our monthly payments are targeted at or below $1200/month and can be adjusted periodically to address life situations. We want our participants to be successful in ownership!
Community
Building Together
An important part of our program is the community connection elements built into each tiny neighborhood we build. The design, the features and the program all work together to foster a sense of community.
We encourage our buyers to be resources to each other and to get involved with fundraising for more sites.
